I set the alarm clock for 4.30am, hauled myself out of bed and readied myself for a short 5 minute drive to my pre-planned location to capture the milky way low in the sky and before blue hour at 6.00am. I set up my X-T1 with the XF14 f2.8 attached and took a series of frames each at 20s exposure time, f2.8, ISO 2000. To create the panorama I re-framed the composition with approx. 50% overlap. The final image was merged in Adobe LR CC and consisted of two rows of four landscape orientated frames.
