Along with the Thumbs Up grip received today I also took delivery of a B&W ND 3.0 (10 stop) filter. I have never used these filters before and it will be interesting to see how it performs and the results that can be achieved by using it. I purchased a 58mm thread version which can be used on both the 14/2.8 and the 18-55/2.8-4 lenses. I am looking forward to putting it through its paces during the next week.
Received in the post today another accessory to pimp the X-E1. In addition to the accessories already fitted, HG-XE1 Hand Grip, Gordy's Hand strap and a soft release shutter button, I have now added a Thumbs Up EP-9S thumb rest. The rest has rubber inserts which rest against the camera body to help dampen vibrations and offer some protection to the camera body preventing any metallic contact and the potential to remove the paint finish. The EP-9S thumb rest is well proportioned, the profile of the rest helps in holding your camera more securely and more comfortably and helps reduce camera shake.
It is very well engineered and the quality of the manufactured part is excellent, even the packaging is of high quality The cost is a little on the high side at AU$139 and if the quality was not there I would have been dissapointed. However, as already stated the quality is good and I am sure its addition will enhance the user experience while using this perfect little camera.
